Why we list our sources

Tax and travel-pay rules change, and a site that asks you to trust its numbers should show where they come from. This page lists the primary sources behind the calculator and the guides, grouped by what they cover. Each link goes to the agency or the text of the law, not to a summary. Our editorial policy explains how we use them. If a link stops working or a source has been replaced, let us know.

Sources we could not link

Some official sites, including the DFAS drill pay tables and Congress.gov bill pages, refuse automated requests, so we could not confirm their links at the time of this review. We do not list them here as verified. When a page quotes a figure from one of them, it should be checked on the agency's site directly. Where we could not confirm a fact from a primary source on the review date, we left it out.
